Statement of Faith
We believe the Bible is God’s Word; that it was written inerrant in its original languages by men divinely inspired and that it is the one and only supreme, infallible authority in all matters of faith and conduct. 2 Timothy 3:16, 17; 2 Peter 1:21
We believe there is one God eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19; 1 Corinthians 12:4-6
We believe in the Deity of Jesus Christ; the eternal and only begotten Son of God conceived of the Holy Spirit of virgin birth; sinless in His life making atonement by His shed blood for the sins of the world through His death. We believe in His bodily resurrection and His ascension into Heaven there to be our Intercessor. John 3:16; Philippians 2:5-8; Hebrews 2:9; 7:25
We believe in the Holy Spirit who came forth from God to convict the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment; and to regenerate, sanctify, and comfort those who believe in Jesus Christ. John 14:26; 16:7-11
We believe that all men are by nature and choice sinful and lost, and have within themselves no possible means of salvation. Psalm 51:5; Romans 3:10-12
We believe in salvation by grace through faith; that salvation is the free gift of God, not by any virtue or works of man, but received only by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; that all true believers possess the gift of eternal life, a perfect righteousness and sonship in the family of God. Ephesians 2:8f; Titus 3:5
We believe in the eternal security of the believer. John 10:27-29
We believe that Satan is a fallen angel, the deceiver and god of this present world; that he was defeated and judged at the cross and therefore his final doom is certain. Isaiah 14:12; Revelation 12:9
We believe that Hell is a place of eternal conscious punishment of all unsaved and at the end of the thousand year reign of Christ will be cast with death into the Lake of Fire. Revelation 20:10-14
We believe in the second coming of Christ; that His return from Heaven will be personal, pre-tribulational, pre-millenial, visible and glorious, the time being unrevealed but always imminent; that when He comes He will first by resurrection of the dead believers and the translation of the living believers, rapture from the earth His waiting church; then pour out the righteous judgments of God upon the unbelieving world; afterwards, descend with His church and establish His glorious and literal kingdom over all nations for a thousand years. Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:16f; Revelation 20:2-4
We believe that the spirits of the saved at death go immediately to be with Christ in Heaven; that at His second coming their works will be judged and rewards determined at the Judgment Seat of Christ; that the spirits of the unsaved at death descend immediately into Hell until the final day of judgment before the Great White Throne, at which time their bodies shall be raised from the grave, judged, and cast into the Lake of Fire, the place of final and everlasting punishment. 2 Corinthians 5:8-10; Philippians 1:23
We believe in the priesthood of all believers; that Christ is our Great High Priest and through Him every born again person has direct access into God’s presence without the need of a human priest; that the believer has the right and responsibility to personal study and to interpret the Scriptures guided by the Holy Spirit. 1 Timothy 2:5; 2 Timothy 2:15; Hebrews 4:14-16
We believe that a New Testament Church is an organized body of baptized believers practicing scriptural ordinances and actively engaged in fulfilling the Great Commission. Acts 2:41-47
We believe that Christian baptism and the Lord’s Supper are each a memorial, a symbol, and a prophecy. We believe that they are the two scriptural ordinances given to the local church; that baptism is by immersion of believers only, and the Lord’s Supper to be partaken of by obedient Christians. Acts 8:36-38; 1 Corinthians 11:23-28
We believe that the first day of the week is the Lord’s Day, and is a Christian institution; it is to be kept sacred to spiritual purposes. Acts 20:7
We believe that all human betterment and social improvements are the inevitable by-products of the Gospel. Galatians 2:20; Ephesians 4:17-24
